Fort Morgan 2021

We are home from a week in Fort Morgan, Alabama. Marcus and I have been to Ft. Morgan once when we were in high school but we didn't remember much about it. Our favorite spot in OBA was completely booked so we decided to head a little farther west and enjoy the seclusion and slower pace of the area.

John's favorite thing right now is waving at EVERYONE. Even from our sixth floor balcony, he waved at his fans below. He is such a sweet soul.

This girl was a little braver this year to get out in the water on her own and play in the waves. We have to push her to get out of her comfort zone sometimes but when she does, nobody has more fun than her!

These two played well together this trip. It was just the five of us so they depended on each other as a playmate and to help each other with things. I was so proud of them!

Some days he liked his baby pool, some days he liked the sand, some days he just wanted to sit in the chairs and watch. We let him decide ;)

Just Jack and I went for a snow cone one evening at the food trucks at our resort. One on one time is hard to come by but I savor these moments.

My three babies at the beach. Life is good.

Exploring the beach chair and watching the big kids kind of day :)

Daddy and G picking up supper from the food trucks for us one night so we could stay in!

He was typically asleep within 10-15 minutes of us getting down to the beach. It just lulled him right to sleep.

His top FOUR teeth are coming in!

Cheers to pounds of peel and eat shrimp, a family favorite

Matt's ice cream one night was a must

Jack and the gator we saw at our resort! We were driving in one evening from going out for supper and saw a small crowd gathered. Of course we had to stop and Jack wanted his picture with him.

It was mostly smiles this week but a few tempers and tantrums happened too. Just keeping it real.

I like professional pictures but you can't beat a good family selfie. We are getting better at squeezing all of us in.

All three babies playing in the sand

Baby portrait at The Gulf. He attracted a group of ladies who were in town for their 40th class reunion. They missed their grandbabies and he was the fix they needed.

Cute boys

The kids love this pirate ship. I need to arrange for us to go on it one day!

They fired the cannon at us. Then we had a long discussion about if pirates were real. I love their imaginations.

We took the kids putt-putt golfing for the first time. They both loved it, especially Georgia. Jack was a sore loser but we are working on it ha!
We tried a new course they just built called "Beachside" and it was so nice. We already promised the kids we would come back to play next year.

Daddy won. We will be doing handicaps next year.
Sweet siblings. Georgia brought her camera one day to try to get some good pictures.

I think they favor so much in this picture

I melted when I saw him posing for pictures for her <3

White J and brown J :)

Having fun in the ocean but holding tight to mama

Overall, he was a great baby this week. We didn’t modify our trip much, he just adapted to our beach days.

A fun pool day of splashing and water toys

Sis tans like her mama, which means we don't lol. I told her I'm sorry she inherited my skin but I've promised her all the spray tans she wants when she's older as long as she doesn't go to the tanning bed and wears SPF in the sun. So far she says she will oblige! YES!

We only went out to eat three times but when we did, we made it count. We went to three of our favorites: Tacky Jack's (Fort Morgan), Sea n' Suds and The Gulf.

Some of the fun memories we captured with Georgia's polaroid

I spent a lot of my beach time under the umbrella holding this boy. My last baby to take to the beach and our only beach trip with him before he turns one and is mobile. I savored it.

Pictures with boys is hard. They are just not into it ha!

He wanted all the accessories. That looks like a nasty storm blowing in behind us but it was just some heavy rain one afternoon. We had two times it rained and the rest of the time the weather was perfect. The mildest conditions I've ever experienced for late June-early July. We never even sweated!

This is my life at 34. I truly have everything I've dreamed about and prayed for plus more.

I'm thankful for my four people and getting to share a week together at our favorite place. The week had some challenges but they were worth it. Take the trip. Make the memories.

Our view from our balcony. I loved the large dunes and the grounds at The Beach Club. We will be returning to this resort for sure.

I didn't know how good life could be until this trip when I ordered instacart groceries and our shopper delivered them to our condo and put them up for us. I never stepped foot in a walmart or grocery store our entire trip. This was the highlight of the trip for me LOL!

Daddy's girl

Mama's boy doing his favorite beach (or non-beach) activity :)

John boy with his sweet morning face!

Here is the picture I will remember the most from this trip. I started thinking earlier this day that something seemed off with Jack. I couldn't put my finger on it but something was different. I took this picture and I saw it. Jack is farsighted but it's not severe enough to treat. His weaker eye had started to turn in from the strain of the sun, sand, etc. I called our optometrist and he said for him to wear sunglasses the rest of the week and no up close activities until we returned home. We took him straight to Dr. Todd when we got home and he was fitted for glasses. They will be here in a week or so. I have a feeling he will be even more handsome than before if that's possible!

Our vacation may be over but I'm already dreaming about our next one...
