Summer Beach Vacation 2014 Part Two

I took way too many pictures for one post so here is the second addition to our summer beach vacation. I keep saying summer beach vacation to remind me that it's not goodbye for a year like normal because we are going back to the beach in the Fall for one of my best friend's wedding! Two beach trips in one year? Don't mind if I do!

Here's a few more candid moments from this past week-

Marcus and Stan went deep sea fishing with friends Scottie and his son Gage. It was red snapper season so that was what they were fishing for but they caught king mackerel instead. The waters were really rough that day so I think just staying vertical in the boat was considered a success. Thankfully no one got sick or thrown overboard! Marcus caught a king mackerel so he was pleased. It was an experience to say the least!

It's not a vacation without a little shopping thrown in here and there. GGH was my trying on helper at the Pink Narcissus in Pier Park. I thought she was pretty as a picture in the gorgeous fitting room and now I am wanting to use some bold wallpaper in our new house! So fun.

Back to the beach. She wasn't a big fan of the baby pool this year. She had her sights set on the ocean. Can't blame the girl. My baby is growing up so fast.

Waterlogged baby girl. She was soaked from head to toe everyday.

Snacktime. A water bottle and goldfish were the usual with a grain of sand or two mixed in :)

We hung out at the pools some too, they were shaded  and pretty empty in the mornings so that was great for us.

She was Gammy's girl this week. She has us all in the palm of her hand but especially her Gammy :)

We brought her puddle jumper but she preferred just being held in the pool. She got brave and jumped off the side a few times.

Enough of the pool, the beach is where it's at :)

Poor baby was blinded by the sun so we had to rotate a bit. I am a blessed gal y'all.

Since she was the happiest in the water we frolicked in the ocean a lot (by ourselves in the morning). She loved every minute of it! It was noticeably less crowded than this same week last year. We enjoyed no waits at restaurants and the lack of bumper-to-bumper traffic.

One of my favorite pictures from the trip.

Her best beach buds this week were Jacie and Gage. Jacie was so sweet to play with her in the sand and swim with her and she crushed hard on Gage all week. When she wasn't wanting to put on her sunscreen in the mornings we would say "Do you want to go see Gage?". She obliged then :)

Fresh out of the ocean

On the last day we hung out at the pool for a while in the morning. I think she was missing just swimming since she swims almost everyday at home. Oh, and can you find Aunt Paigey?? HA!!

Paige and her best friend Sophie came down at the end of the week to join us. GGH especially enjoyed having some gal pals around to spoil her even more. Oh the spoiling that took place this week...:) She's a very loved little girl!

Last night at the beach, enjoying some seafood at Pompano Joe's. I had the Island Shrimp dinner (split it with Soph, it was a ton of food) and it was wonderful. I want to document this so I can remember it the next time I eat at a Joe's. I can never remember what I had at a restaurant, never!

We are home now and getting back into the swing of normal life. The trip home was much easier than the trip down. She slept over half of the way and was more content in her carseat. Mommy slept half the way too so it was a happy time for all :)

And just a fun collage to commemorate our trip. I have last years printed out and displayed on my desk so I will need to add this one to the collection.

What a difference exactly a year makes!

And I will end this post with one of my very favorite videos. My daredevil baby with her favorite guy-dimply smile and salt water sampling included :). Love her spunk!

I'm so thankful for a week of fun and rest at our happy place.

Summer Beach Vacation 2014 Part One

We are home from our fun week at the beach in Florida. I was off work for almost two glorious weeks so we are still trying to get back into routine. What a wonderful vacation it was! We sunned and swam and relaxed, we didn't have an agenda and it felt good. Lots and lots of vacation pictures coming up...this is your warning :)

The trip down was less than desirable. Marcus had closing day for his school Saturday morning which meant that we didn't get to leave early in the morning which seems to work best for a baby. A broken iPad screen, one big throw-up, several meltdowns and 9 1/2 hours later we were at the beach. We will only take road trips where we leave early in the morning. We learned our lesson. But we survived and baby girl didn't have to get back in a carseat for nearly the whole week :)

But of course it was all worth while to have this view for the next seven days. We stayed at the Calypso Beach Resort again this year, my Mamaw booked the condo for us and loves it there! It is really conveniently located and you can walk to most everything in Panama.

Summer Beach Trip 2014- Georgia Grace, 19 months old
The first couple of days was mostly overcast which wasn't a bad thing since I was white as an Easter lily and we didn't want Georgia Grace getting sun. It also was great for taking pictures on the beach. I just love this picture so much. Gingham, monogram, Beaufort bonnet and my baby girl-all of my favorite things :)

Sweet girl building a sandcastle. She was the peach of the beach this week :)

The second night we were there Marcus and I drove over to Destin (35 minute drive) to eat and shop. We ate at The Crab Trap restaurant where Marcus proposed five years ago this month.

Here we were in June 2009. And it appears we invented the selfie because
no one was at the actual proposal spot to take pictures ha! It was a great trip down memory lane for us.

This girl was sporting all her accessories this morning at the beach.  We called her "Diva" after I took this picture and then she started calling herself that ha!

Last year she wore her big floppy hat and this year it was a sun bonnet. We brought a big hat but she kept pulling it off or the wind would get it. The bonnet with the tie under the chin worked much better.

I took my good camera and lens to the beach two days to get some candid shots. Since she was such a water baby this trip most of them are of her in the water with her Daddy.

She is waving at the Ward family in this picture. They just so happened to be at the same beach in the same condo the same week as us! We enjoyed beachin' it with them!

All smiles in the ocean

She felt so safe in her Daddy's arms. Love those sweet hands wrapped around his neck.

This one makes me laugh! She thought she was such a big girl out there.

Big smiles!

Mommy was behind the camera a lot but I did get in a few fun pictures :)

She played in the sand behind our chairs and we had the umbrella up so she would be shaded. This kept her occupied for a while.

Our routine was head out to the beach around 9-9:30, come in for lunch around noon and GGH nap (Mamaw usually stayed in with her for us) while we went back to the beach for the afternoon. Then we would clean up and head out to eat for the night. This night was a Lilly dress night!

We went and ate at Angelo's just like last year. This is our absolute favorite restaurant on the panhandle. If you've never been-GO. You won't be disappointed.

Part two coming tomorrow :)

Salt Life

I'm just taking a second to do a quick post from my phone of iPhone pictures because I just couldn't wait to document them :) We are having a wonderful vacation. The road trip down was another doozy but we made it and all is well when your final destination is the beach!
                        My Georgia beach peach!

No caption needed. I've met my match.

We had a fun day at the pool followed by a fun night out with the family

Eating at Angelo's and keeping with tradition of getting our picture made with the 20,000 pound bull.

The week is flying by of course but we're trying to make every day count. Signing off to go apply aloe to my red legs (and I was wearing SPF 30!) and hit the hay to rest up for more fun in the sun!

Vacation All I Ever Wanted

I am currently on an eleven day vacation from work and I couldn't be happier about it. I love my job but I love my family more and I'm thoroughly enjoying my quality time with them. And today was the last day of school for the husband so we are all kinds of happy over here. To celebrate the occasions we are headed to the beach in the morning for a week of the salt life! I hope Georgia Grace's second trip to the beach is just as fun as her first beach vacation. Minus the flat dry and bee stings on the way down, I can do without that nonsense.

Thursday I had some errands I needed to tend to before our trip so I spent my spa gift certificate from my sister-in-law/brother-in-law and treated myself to a massage and a facial. I never treat myself to something like this so it was extra awesome. I'm accepting any other spa gift certificates anyone wants to send my way ;) Thanks Aunt Shanna!

While I was at the spa our cousin Payton kept GGH for us which I know they both looked forward to! She always takes sweet pictures for me so I know what she's up to when I am away from home.

And this one takes the cake. I've never been more proud of anything in my life than I am this girl.

Today we visited Daddy at school to celebrate summer break and say goodbye to his sweet third graders. The good news is he is looping to fourth grade next year so he will have all of the same students which he is really excited about. He will attend a conference the week we get back to help prepare for fourth grade curriculum. His daughter thought all of this was worthy of a big smooch! She was extra friendly to his students and blew kisses to them as we were leaving. She's our little politician.

I will try to post a few iPhone pictures from the gulf coast but I will basically be blog-free this week. It's good to take a break every now and then. You can follow me on Instagram for daily pictures (or you can do what I just did and go back to view the early baby days and cry about how fast time is going...)- love the convenience of an IG feed!

See y'all next week!
