Birthday Boy

Happy 24th Birthday to my wonderful husband!!!
Wasn't he the prettiest little boy you've ever seen?

I love this one! He loved the 'Cago Bears!

I am so proud of this man and all the accomplishments he has achieved at this point in his life. We were just babies here! (high school graduation, 2006)

He is going to be the best father in the world in just 13 short weeks!

Happy Birthday Marcus Paul Harrison! I thank God for creating you on this day 24 years ago and bringing us together almost 9 years ago. I can't imagine going through this journey called life without you.

Marcus celebrated his 24th birthday by painting Georgia's nursery ha! Him and his dad had a father/son day preparing for their daughter/granddaughter :). The nursery is really coming together, I'll do a nursery reveal once everything is in place!

Birthday Cookout

We hosted a cookout this weekend for Marcus' 24th birthday. The last time we had a birthday event this big for him it was his sixteenth!

Birthday Boy!

Beautiful flowers my mamaw Carolyn brought for the event.

Marcus got a Big Green Egg for his birthday so we definitely wanted to grill. The food was great! Everybody brought some type of side dish and we ended the night with cobblers and homemade ice-cream.

Keagen enjoying some homemade ice cream.

And Owen enjoying some homemade ice cream ha!

The birthday gift-we have already used it tons this summer.

It was a fun night and I think everyone had a good time visiting with each other, seeing the nursery progress, and playing cornhole! We may have to make it an annual tradition!

Friday Nights

Friday nights have changed for us over the years. I remember back when Marcus and I were fifteen and sixteen Friday nights meant heading to Bowling Green to eat and shop and/or watch a movie. And then the college years came and Friday nights were more about studying and staying home to save money ha! Now that we are in our mid-20's, this is what a typical Friday night looks like.

One good thing about Kentucky weather is that you can dry your clothes on the line about 8-9 months of the year. I dry all of our things outside except our nice dress clothes. I think this house having a clothes line is what sold me ;)

Tomorrow night we are having a birthday cookout for Marcus so I went ahead and made my peach homemade ice cream tonight. Peach is my absolute favorite! I can't wait to try it.

And then you use Friday nights to repair bathtubs :/. Our tub has been sinking for some reason so Marcus and soon-to-be brother in law Jake had to crawl under the house and "jack it up". I am so thankful for Marcus, Jake, Granddad, and all the other hardworking men in my life! They set a good example for the future generation.

This is how they came out looking after 3 hours of being under the house. I rewarded them with Pizza Hut and Powerade! A good trade-off if you ask me!

Friday nights have definitely changed since the beginning of our relationship but so have we. I am happy with the stage that we are in and I am content doing laundry, fixing food, and serving pizza to dirty stinky men on my Friday night :)

26 Weeks

Pregnancy Update:
How Far Along: 26 Weeks
Size of baby: Georgia is the length of an English cucumber
Total Weight Gain: Gained 11 lbs
Maternity Clothes: I wear maternity pants but everything else is regular.
Gender: It's a girl!!! Georgia Grace Harrison
Movement: I'm really feeling her move a lot this week, especially at night. Oh boy!
Sleep: I'm sleeping pretty good!
Cravings: chocolate milk, peaches
Symptoms/Sickness: NONE (So thankful!)
Best Moment this week: Creating the registries for her shower!

Today I had my 26 week appointment. I have gained another 3 pounds (11 total-yah!) and her heart rate was great at 148. My doctor wants me to gain 35 pounds because I am tall so I am doing my best. I'll do whatever I can for a healthy baby. I will start having appointments every two weeks now which is exciting! We are having a 4D ultrasound next time- can't wait! All in all it was another great appointment and we are one step closer to meeting her.

I know it's a little early to already be making purchases like this but we found a deal we couldn't pass on---Georgia has her first car ha! Isn't it the cutest thing? It is a Jeep brand walker. We bought it second-hand so we got a really good deal on it. If you know me very well I am all about good deals and being original! We will store it in our building until she's ready to use it. So darn cute!

My Papaw Porter actually bought it for her so he gets the credit for buying her first car :)

Back to my laundry and then church tonight. Happy Wednesday!

Flashback-Gender Reveal Party

This post is all about our gender reveal party. As I've mentioned this blog is for me to be able to look back and remember all the memories so I wanted this big event to be included.

We had around 30 of our closest friends and family over for the special occasion. We planned it on our two year wedding anniversary (May 22nd)! What could be a more awesome gift than finding out the gender of your first child?

We had the party at Marcus' grandmomma Kays so we could accommodate everyone. She was so gracious to allow us to have it there!

Our invites! They were so stinkin' cute. Our theme was "Hairbows or Bowties?" and everyone had to wear whichever they thought the gender would be.

Team Hairbow!

Team Bowtie!

The gorgeous cake. So yummy too!

Blue-raspberry or pink lemonade

Here we are right before the big reveal. Mommy didn't wear either, but I was really thinking boy...oops! Sorry sweet girl! And daddy wore both :) He thought girl all along.

And baby is a....

GIRL!!!!!

We also announced her name on that night-Georgia Grace Harrison. Georgia is a name we've had picked out for a long time and it is also a family name. We are honored for our daughter to share her name with Marcus' great-aunt Georgia Nell Harrison.

The sign posted the next day at AKK announcing her name and gender!

My cousin Payton was playing in her Regional softball tournament on the night of the party so her team showed their support by wearing bows for Team Hairbows! So sweet of them to do!

It was such a fun night, I definitely recommend any couples finding out the gender to celebrate it in some way. I will never forget this event.

Hairbows it is!

Weekend Recap

We started the weekend off by getting up early Saturday morning to go create our baby registry! We wanted to go early to beat the crowds of the normal shoppers. I quickly realized a lot of things I was going to have to wait and register for online so it didn't take as long as I thought-hubby was happy about that! :)

Dad making a selection. He is totally fine with a house full of pink and I love him for that! (Pics taken with my iphone so not the best quality)

Mommy with the gun! Watch out!

After we finished registering, we went to a few consignment stores that I usually have good luck at. Not yesterday :/. We came home empty handed (except a few cheap infant onesies to practice my embroidery on). That just means more shopping ha!

After shopping, we stopped at Steak N' Shake for lunch. I had forgot how much I love that place.

Couldn't pass on a homemade milkshake!

We came back home and Marcus went golfing while I had a pool day. It is still so sunny and warm here-better enjoy it while we can!

Ashley and I enjoying our sunny Saturday!

This morning we went to church and to eat at my mamaws. I foresee the rest of the afternoon being spent finishing up the registries online and maybe a little sewing I have neglected since I got home from vacation. Happy Sunday everyone!

Summer Reading

I like to read and I have found more time this summer to read than usual. I guess I'm thinking I better get it all in now because the chances of me being able to sit down and read a book in about 3 months are slim to none!

My every day (well most days) read is my bible. My sister got me this bible before we got married. It is specific to couples in that it provides life lessons and testimonies throughout that are specific to the passage. I was able to read it all the way through in 2011 and I hope to do the same this year. Last year I followed a plan from Read The Bible For Life that puts the bible in chronological order and this year I decided to just read it straight through. I can't tell you the impact this little intervention has had on my christian walk. I feel so much closer to my heavenly father and more of a sense of clarity of The Word and how to apply it to my life.

This book was also given to me by my sister. She gave it to me right after I found out I was expecting. I highly recommend this book to any mother-young, old, new, experienced. I plan on reading it a second time before Georgia gets here. It is a definite must read!

This book I borrowed from a friend because she just raved over how good it was. I have always been intrigued by the Duggar family and this book made me like them even more. Do I agree with everything they do? No. However, this book gave me more of an understanding behind their philosophies and I gained respect for the lifestyle that they live. Debt free with 18 kids-who am I to judge ha!

I have just started a new book another friend gave me, it's all about breastfeeding! Not the most entertaining but very informative. Ahh the stages in life we go through :)

25 Weeks

Pregnancy Update:
How Far Along: 25 Weeks
Size of baby: Georgia is the size of a head of cauliflower
Total Weight Gain: Gained 8 lbs
Maternity Clothes: I wear maternity pants but everything else is regular.
Gender: It's a girl!!! Georgia Grace Harrison
Movement: The baby has really increased her movement this week!
 Sleep: I'm sleeping pretty good!
Cravings/Aversions: I've craved apple juice the last few days?!? I can’t eat yogurt or animal crackers which were once staples in my diet :/
 Symptoms/Sickness: NONE (So thankful!)
Best Moment this week: Feeling Georgia move a lot and working on her nursery

This week other people have really started noticing my growing belly! I am happy to be leaving the "pregnant or gaining weight?" stage ha! I have had such as easy pregnancy so far and I thank God for it. I pray that the next 15 weeks go as smoothly.

I have a doctors appointment next week which will include my glucose test. My mother had gestational diabetes with my sister so I really hope I don't have it too. Even though I picked the perfect profession to deal with it, I don't want any part of it!

Marcus picked up our rocker for the nursery yesterday and assembled it. We absolutely love it! It was exactly what we were wanting. As you can see our dog baby is pretty fond of it too. It’s so funny how he has shown so much interest in all the nursery things. We may have some jealousy issues to deal with come October!

HHi part 2

Here are a few more pictures from the trip. I got a new Canon camera for my birthday and this was really our first time trying it out.

The girls enjoying some Frozen Moo ice cream! (bad quality, blaming the photographer ha!)

Us at The Crazy Crab for dinner, we were starving from all the shopping ha!

Iphone pic from Smokehouse. I am eating for two so I have no shame posting all the restaurant pics :)

As I mentioned earlier, we got a new camera after we found out we were expecting. My sister took some pictures of us one evening at the beach and they turned out pretty good I think! You can never go wrong with a beach setting.

Or the Atlantic Ocean.

Owen our goldendoodle stayed home with my in-laws so we had to get him a souveneir. It looks so good with his golden hair!

Today was my first day back to work. It's not near as hard going back to work after vacation when you love your job! Back to reality is not too shabby :).
