Graduation & Sesame Street Live

Where did the weekend go? Seriously. Before I knew it I was back getting things ready for the upcoming week at 8 o'clock on Sunday night. May always seems to go in morph speed with all the celebrations and activities that fill the month. This weekend of was full of all of those things!

Saturday we went to the WKU graduation to watch my brother-in-law Eric and my brother's girlfriend Sarah walk the line. There are three or four WKU graduation ceremonies each semester but they luckily both happened to graduate at the same time! I wouldn't have minded to sit through two but I'll be honest and say I'm glad it was just one :)

Paige and Eric had their families over before graduation to celebrate Eric and his twin sister Ariel who also graduated Saturday at the same time! Eric and Ariel were able to sit by each other and walk the line together. I'm sure their momma's heart was about to explode.

These two met at WKU so it will always be a special place for them no matter where they end up in life. Paige was so excited to stand as a spouse of the graduate :) I thought she looked very wife-like in her adorable polka dot dress! Congrats Uncle Eric!

These two also met at WKU. We owe Big Red a lot of thanks for all the relationships he has been involved with! Cody was able to be in this weekend for Sarah's graduation which was great and this week he is packing up his apartment in Wichita to move to Orlando for a new job! We are so excited for him. Orlando sounds much better than Salt Lake City which was the original plan. And Sarah moved to Nashville yesterday for the summer and then will be headed to Louisville in the fall for grad school at UL. We are so proud of both of them!

I have to give a big shoutout to my baby girl. This is her THIRD college graduation since she has been born. Third! It's obvious I am the oldest sibling ha! She has taken them all in stride and has been the best thing at all three. When we walked into the arena she said "Go ball" ha! We've even mapped out Diddle Arena to find the aisle with the most leg space for her to roam...we are seasoned WKU graduation attendees.
Sunday Sesame Street Live came to SKyPAC and we took Georgia Grace to her first show. It was really cute and fun. She had a big time and her favorite of course was Elmo. The first segment she was attentive the whole time but after intermission she decided climbing in the seat and making friends with everyone sitting around us was more fun.

Lots of pointing, squealing and grinning!

The Sesame Street Live papparazzi caught us :) It was a fun girls day out. Mom had told me about the show so I was really glad she got to join us. She made it extra special!

And finally, there is something I am really excited about...

I danced at The Dance Academy for six years and some of my most vivid childhood memories are practicing at Moira's studio and performing our routines at the auditorium. And now my Georgia Grace gets to be a dancer too! What's so bizarre is about a month ago I started brainstorming ways and connections to get dance offered in our community. The timing couldn't have been more perfect! This is a wonderful asset to our little town.

Bring on the leotards and hair buns!

A Whole Lotta Awesome

I have big news to share that I have been dying to tell since August...

Our best friends are having a baby!!!

Rachel is 12 weeks along and everything is perfect. They came over to our house very casually one night after we invited them over for supper with this sweet little card. I screamed of course, my excitement level was/is through the roof!

This was how they announced it (which just happens to be the cutest way ever). And this was my response when she sent it to me via text HA! I threatened to spill the beans several times if she didn't go ahead and tell it already. Baby Ross is already on the AKK waiting list so consider Georgia Grace and Baby Ross best friends for life.

This baby is a testament to God's faithfulness-God is good!!!

First birthday party details are being finalized this week (in between wedding plans) and a big detail is ready to go-the party dress! My friend Jenny of Savvy Stitches made this beautiful custom piece for Georgia Grace based on my Pinterest board and personal preferences (she also made this dress for us). This dress will be perfect to match her party theme. Southern, prissy, and unique to our 1st birthday baby. Thanks Jenny for sharing your creativity with us!

Monday I was informed that I had won tickets to a UK football game!!! I know everyone always says this when they win something but I seriously never win things like this. I could be the only name in the hat and somehow the hat tag would end up getting pulled out or something. Maybe my bad luck with prizes streak is over! Anyway this game is the first weekend in November and we are planning on making it an overnight trip and leaving Georgia Grace with family for the first time. I think I'm ready, I KNOW she's ready. The timing just feels right as the busiest month ever concludes. I have to think these tickets are the reason we needed to take some mommy/daddy time. Thank you Beech Tree News!

AND my brother's girlfriend Sarah has been nominated as a WKU homecoming candidate! Unfortunately WKU homecoming and GGH's birthday party overlap each other, we are bummed about that but we will be there in spirit to support her! Isn't she a doll? I think she is a perfect representative for the university. Good luck Sarah!!

Tops On Top

Saturday we had the opportunity to go watch the WKU vs. Navy game with our dear friends Ashley and James. Oh my goodness it was the perfect day for football. Plus we had awesome seats, food, and company. We were so glad they invited us and that we were free so we could go!

I looked for some Hilltopper gear for Georgia Grace and nothing I found thrilled me so I made her this onesie. It is adorable on her! Her little poochy belly fills it out nicely :) I tried to get a picture of her before the game with her mini football but the rocks in the landscaping won this battle...

"Put me in, Petrino"! I took this as she was standing up and it looks like she is getting down in position. Such a mess.

There's my sweet girl smiling for the camera. Oh my gracious she melts me!

Not only was the weather great but the game was too. We won 19-7! It was such an exciting game. We got to see old friends and meet some new people too. The dorm you see in this picture (Minton Hall) was my dorm when I stayed at WKU. I do not miss that living arrangement!

The hubs and me enjoying our seats in the Topper Club. James and Ashley are members so we got to join them and it was amazing! WKU has really stepped it up in the ballgame experience department.
(It was Military Appreciation Day so that's why I'm holding a random flag)

Ashley and me. I told her she looked like my little sis in this picture with my heels on and, well let's just say it, large and in charge top half HA! Motherhood folks. It changes you (sometimes for the better!).

Silly ol' EKU grad, WKU c/o '08, WKU c/o '09, and WKU c/o '10

The only one of us that remembered their towel and he waved it proudly

So this picture was a lot of fun!

We decided Georgia Grace would have a better time at home so Grandma Harrison kept her for us. I think from the pictures I received that she found plenty to get into. Every day is like a field trip for her! I'm so thankful for family that want and enjoy keeping her for us while we do mommy and daddy things.

We've had a great weekend but it's back to work tomorrow and tomorrow baby girl will be 11 months old! I need October to pass by VERY slowly please.

WKU Finale

Today my brother graduated with his Bachelors Degree from WKU! He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a double major in political science and economics. He was also president of SAE fraterntiy. We are so proud of him!

Georgia, Cody, and Cody's sweet sweet girlfriend Sarah. We have loved getting to know her over the past year and we hope she sticks around! (hint hint bro)

The whole family. We are all sun-grinning like someone was paying us to do it. But we got the picture ha!

Georgia lasted the first 1 1/2 hours of graduation and then she got restless so she and I watched the rest from the TV screens in the hallway. And then she crashed while Eric was holding her (should have got a picture-SO precious) and slept the whole way home. She had a rough morning so a nap was much needed. She's a trooper though. I doubt many 6 month olds have been to two college graduations!

Cody and his melting cake :)
Mom and Stan had a cookout for Cody after the commencement. It just happens to still be WINTER here so we had to move indoors after sunset. It was nice not having to fight the graduation crowd at the restaurants.

We will sure miss this guy when he moves to Wichita next month but we couldn't be more proud or excited for his future! He's just an airplane ride (or a LONG car drive) away---and since he will be working in the aircraft industry maybe he can get us a deal! ;)

Stand up and cheer...For this is dear old Western's day.
