Jack is six months old!

Sweet second child of mine, you turned half a year old on Monday and this post is being created on Friday. In mommy's defense, this is one of the busiest weeks of the year for her. I promise to try to do better!

Jack-you are SIX months old! Halfway to one. You can stop growing up so fast anytime now.

Here is what the past month has looked like for you:

You are probably around 18 pounds and 28 inches long. Your six month checkup is in a few weeks so I will update then. You are wearing 9 month clothing and size 2/3 diapers. You have outgrown your size 1 shoes. We are entering hat season and none of your little caps that go with your size-appropriate outfits fit. You inherited the big head gene.

Eyes=dark blue. I'm pretty confident they will be brown like everyone else in your family soon.

Your hair is blonde just like your daddy's at the same age. Your eyelashes are long and curled like his too.

You started whole grain rice cereal about a week shy of your six month birthday. I decided to wait since you were still getting mostly breastmilk. You love your cereal.

We just started you on real baby food. We started 0 for 2 with green beans and peas but carrots were a hit! Your big sister loves to help feed you. She even sometimes asked to be fed herself :)

As perfect as you are, sleep is something you are making us work for. You spoiled us early when you started sleeping through the night at three months. You haven't slept through the night since the month four sleep regression marker. I am hoping since you have started eating food we can get back to a full night's sleep. Mommy and Daddy miss it!

You also like to cat nap. Sometimes you will take 1-2 hour naps but most of the time you do several 30-45 minute naps throughout the day.

You have transitioned from the swaddle to a sleep sack. You also take your wubbanub to go to sleep. The puppydog on your wubbanub has become your companion, we never leave the house without him.
You are a busy baby and love to sit up on your own and stand with support. You are very alert and recognize voices. You love when you are talked to and flash the sweetest gummy grin.

You love to squeal so loud. We know you are extra happy when you are in your squealing mood. On the flip side, you also have a cry that could peel the wallpaper off. You know how to let your voice be heard!

We just got back from a week at the beach and you traveled like a champ. Good job son!

In true boy fashion, wet and dirty diapers do not bother you one bit.

You enjoy sitting in the floor and playing with sister, bathtime, eating, attacking faces, snuggling and just being carried around the house so you can be in the middle of all the action.

I look forward to waking up everyday and being your and Georgia's mommy! We are crazy in love with you. It has been a half of a year of pure joy.

Look at you grow! Happy 1/2 birthday baby boy!
